Community Involvement

3s For Better Vision

In January 2019, Brooklyn Nets point guard, Spencer Dinwiddie and The Dinwiddie Family Foundation (DFF) announced a unique partnership with SightMD, the largest Ophthalmology and Eye Care Practice in the Northeast, in an effort to support Dinwiddie’s 3s For Better Vision and lead the charge in childhood eye and ocular disease prevention. 3s For Better Vision provides disadvantaged children and families who are uninsured and reside in New York City, and Long Island with free eye exams, and free eye glasses. SightMD will work hand and hand with The Dinwiddie Family Foundation to conduct outreach within inner city schools, and low income communities.

Kids at Sunrise Day Camp

Sunrise Association Day Camps are the world’s only dedicated day camps for children with cancer and their siblings, provided completely free of charge. A place where they can go and lose themselves in the simple joy of childhood. Just like any other child.

SightMD is proud to partner with Sunrise Day Camp to help ensure that children with cancer have the chance to experience…their best day ever.

Ice Bucket Challenge

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge started a nationwide conversation about the disease. Drs Martin, Zweibel and Mauro of SightMD took the “challenge” in honor of Dr. Frank Verdone.

Share your Ice Bucket Challenge videos on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter). The more awareness about the disease the closer it will bring us to better treatment and a cure.

Semi-Annual Symposium for Optometrists

Twice a year SightMD hosts an educational symposium for regional eye doctors. The doctors of SightMD lecture on a broad range of topics including diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions, as well as surgical technique and technology. The symposia are supported by local doctors and industry leaders. SightMD is proud to donate a portion of the proceeds to the ALS Association. If you are an optometrist you can sign up for our next symposium.
