Katina Lown, Au.D, CCC-A is licensed to practice as a certified audiologist and to dispense hearing aids in New York State. She has also earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Dr. Lown attended SUNY New Paltz, where she completed her undergraduate work and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders in 2013. Dr. Lown then received her Doctoral degree in Audiology at Nova Southeastern University in 2017.
She has gained audiological experience in various settings, including Miami Children’s Hospital, The University of Miami Ear Institute, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, and McGuire’s Hearing Centers. During her career, Dr. Lown has performed a variety of tests, comprising of sedated auditory brainstem response testing in the OR, newborn hearing screenings, pediatric and adult audiological evaluations, electrocochleography, and videonystagmography.
She also has experience working with cochlear implants and Bone-Anchored Hearing Aids. Dr. Lown has worked with a diverse patient population, including newborns & pediatrics, adults, patients with special needs, difficult to test patients and hospital inpatients.
Dr. Lown has a passion for improving her patients’ quality of life by treating each patient on an individual basis. She makes appropriate recommendations for amplification by taking each of her patients’ hearing needs and lifestyle into consideration. Dr. Lown strives to help each of her patients reach their hearing goals; she believes everyone should be able to socialize and participate in various activities without the fear of missing out in conversations, or feeling socially isolated.
