At SightMD, we incorporate the most advanced ophthalmological technology into each area of our practice. We use optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus photography to evaluate disorders of the optic nerve. Corneal pachymetry allows us to measure corneal thickness prior to LASIK surgery, and we also use it as a screening tool for glaucoma and other eye disorders. We utilize the newest laser technology to perform refractive surgery and to treat eye conditions like cataracts and glaucoma.

I couldn't have had a better LASIK experience! Dr. Knoll was lovely, professional, and very helpful. She and the great staff at North Shore Eye Care made the entire process seamless and worry-free. After depending on glasses and contacts for almost 20 years, I now have perfect vision. Thank you, NSEC. I love my new eyes!
Dr. Maruo did my LASIK surgery last month. I was nervous before the surgery and he walked me through the whole thing. He was an amazing surgeon and I recommend anyone to go to him, even if you feel nervous, I promise he'll get you through it. It's so nice to see 20/20 24/7, when I had horrible vision. North Shore Eye Care is the best place to go, not only did I think Dr. Mauro was great, but the whole staff!
Dr. Jeffery Martin and the staff/nurses at N.S Eye Care are all fantastic. Excellent service, excellent facility, and all extremely helpful when it came to my PRK surgery. I wouldn't have done it anywhere else. Highly recommended!
I had considered LASIK for sometime, and I knew it was not something I could rush in to. So after getting more comfortable with the idea, I started to do some exhaustive research. I looked into all of the major offices on Long Island. Some were better than others, yet none had the reputation, convenience, and quality that North Shore had. Before I signed on the dotted line, they did exhaustive tests to make sure I was a good candidate, and really made me fully aware of the procedure in detail. By the time it got to the day of the surgery, I felt so comfortable and was excited! Dr. Mauro did my surgery, and I can't give him enough praise. His knowledge and technical proficiency was unmatched. He talked me through exactly what he was doing every step of the way, and before I knew it, about ten or fifteen minutes later, I could see. Truly one of the most unusual and amazing experiences in my life. There are several offices, so it makes it easy for future follow up appointments. Everyone who works there is very friendly, helpful and professional. They also called the night of and checked up and asked how I was doing, which was really unexpected, but very nice. The one complaint, and I suppose this is a good thing in a way, is that the office is always very busy, and sometimes the waiting time is long. That does reinforce that clearly they are doing something right as far as the quality of their doctors, and technology, etc. that patients keep coming back. Yet it does not say much about their scheduling...but a minor complaint in the scheme of things. Would gladly recommend to anyone considering LASIK...it's the most incredible thing to be able to wake up and see!
I had worn contacts from age 11-25 and was sick of it. I had it when a different doctor told me she couldn't help me with my pain from contacts so I finally made the decision to do LASIK. My consultation with Dr. Zweibel was my first- and only. After I felt so comfortable with him, I cancelled my other two and scheduled surgery! I was VERY VERY nervous and scared. All the nurses and people there were very encouraging and helpful. They answered all my questions, even when I asked very dumb ones. The doctor even caught a scar in my eye I didn't know I had and recommended I do PRK in the left and LASIK in the right (no price change). Of course I took his advice. Recovery from PRK is not easy but he was very good about explaining all my symptoms to me and helping me through all the steps. I am four months out of surgery and could not be any happier and would recommend Dr. Zweibel over and over! Yes, my eyes are "drier" than in the past but that is a small price to pay for not having to wear contacts anymore! And I have 20/15 in both eyes!PS The negative review below is SO untrue about the office. They tell you ALL the risks of LASIK- there is always the 1% chance something can go wrong. Everyone is very helpful and knowledgeable!
