Dr. Benjamin Whigham is a former post-doctorate clinical fellow at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY who specializes in glaucoma management. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Davidson College in North Carolina, Dr. Whigham earned his Doctor of Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC, where he was class representative for the Davison Honor Council and a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient.
After a 1-year internship in Internal Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC, Dr. Whigham performed research at the Durham Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham, NC. Dr. Whigham then completed his residency in ophthalmology at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where he received the Richard C. Troutman Award for Academic Excellence in Ophthalmology. Dr. Whigman is a co-author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, reviews and published editorials in medical journals.
