Dr. Fikret Kajoshaj, is a comprehensive medical optometrist who earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and later completed an Ocular Disease Residency at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System.
To further his medical training, Dr. Kajoshaj also completed an optional Advanced Competence in Medical Optometry exam given by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Kajoshaj earned his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY, where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. While earning his undergraduate degree, Dr. Kajoshaj received the Community Recognition Award and earned a Realty Foundation of New York Scholarship.
Dr. Kajoshaj is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the New York State Optometric Association & Nassau County Optometric Society. During his medical optometry career, Dr. Kajoshaj has gained valuable experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of cataracts, glaucoma management, diabetic retinal disease and ocular surface disease.
Dr. Kajoshaj is fluent in several languages, including English, Albanian and Serbo-Croation. He has given several lectures in the community, including lectures for national pharmaceutical
and served as a Key Opinion Leader at the national Vision Expo East.
