Pooja Berdia, O.D. is a New York State licensed optometrist. She graduated at the top of her class at SUNY College of Optometry where she was a member of the Gold Key Honor Society.
Dr. Berdia’s top priority is patient care; she provides treatment and management of all disorders that affect the eye. Her passions include pediatric eye care, specialty contact lens fittings, pre- and post-op management, and glaucoma management.
Dr. Berdia is a strong believer in contributing to her community and has been volunteering her time throughout college and optometry school. She was involved with ACE the Health Practitioner Society, where she organized multi disciplinary vision screenings in the local community. Furthermore, Dr. Berdia has participated in service trips to Ghana with Unite for Sight, and Panama with the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (VOSH). Both organizations strive to provide free eye exams, glasses, and cataract surgeries to under-served communities.
In her free time, Dr. Berdia enjoys running and has ran in the Long Island Half Marathon. She is a Long Island native and is eager to help those in her own neighborhood. Dr. Berdia practices out of the Smithtown office.
