SightMD, a leading multi-specialty ophthalmology platform and a portfolio company of Chicago Pacific Founders, announced a strategic partnership with George T. Schirripa, M.D. The partnership expands SightMD’s leading position in New York, adding the Company’s second location in Westchester County and bringing SightMD’s current footprint to 35 locations and 70+ providers spanning Westchester County through New York City and Long Island.
“I wanted to make sure that I was aligning with a group that shared my values and commitment to patient-focused, clinically excellent care,” remarked Dr. Schirripa. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join a like-minded practice in SightMD, which was built upon, and continues to exude these core tenets in becoming New York’s leading ophthalmic practice.”
Jeffrey Martin, a Co-founder and President of SightMD, said, “SightMD’s mission is to provide world-class eye care in our patients’ communities at our patients’ convenience. In partnering with Dr. Schirripa, SightMD adds one of the region’s preeminent ophthalmic surgeons and a mainstay in the Yonkers and broader Westchester County community.”
Dr. Schirripa has spent the majority of his medical career providing comprehensive ophthalmic care from his Yonkers clinic, where his patients and referral sources can expect no change to his schedule pursuant to this partnership. Prior to his career in private practice, Dr. Schirripa earned his medical degree from The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at University at Buffalo. He is affiliated with St. John’s Riverside Hospital-Andrus Pavilion.
“I had no shortage of options when considering the next chapter in my practice and career,” added Dr. Schirripa. “I found the SightMD team to be genuine, transparent and easy-to-work-with, and could not recommend SightMD enough to other physicians in Westchester County and beyond.”
SightMD’s strategic partnership with Dr. Schirripa represents the ninth practice to join the Company since it partnered with Chicago Pacific Founders in September 2018.
