On November 10th, Dr. Alanna Nattis and SightMD invite you to proudly join them and the National Keratoconus Foundation in a global celebration of World Keratoconus Day.
Keratoconus – or KC – is a progressive eye disease in which the normally round cornea thins and begins to bulge into a cone-like shape, causing distorted vision. Over time, the cornea weakens, which can result in significant vision loss and in severe cases could lead to corneal transplantation.
World KC Day is a perfect opportunity for us to raise awareness and hope world-wide for this vision-threatening disease. Let’s join together and help spread the word. It was founded in 2016 to not only raise awareness about Keratoconus but to also serve as a platform for educating and advocating for those suffering from Keratoconus.
Dr. Nattis is a leading provider of corneal collagen crosslinking for keratoconus patients, which is the first and only FDA-approved therapeutic treatment for keratoconus that combines the use of ultra-violet light and riboflavin eye drops. Dr. Nattis and her team here at SightMD have worked tirelessly to promote awareness of keratoconus diagnosis and treatment options, including crosslinking, as well as visual enhancement options thereafter.
