SightMD, a leading multi-specialty ophthalmology platform and a portfolio company of Chicago Pacific Founders, today announced a strategic partnership with Joseph A. Blanco, M.D., P.C., a Manhasset-based ophthalmology practice. The acquisition represents SightMD’s first office in Manhasset, N.Y., while Dr. Blanco brings 30+ years of ophthalmic experience to SightMD’s growing team of over 70 providers and 30+ convenient locations in the greater New York area.
Dr. Blanco is a New York native who has spent the duration of his medical career caring for patients in the Tri-state area. He graduated from Rutgers Medical School and went on to establish his practice in Manhasset, NY. Dr. Blanco is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who is affiliated with Northwell Health and Saint Francis Hospitals. He has been a cornerstone in the Manhasset community for the majority of his career, providing cataract surgery and general ophthalmic care to thousands of patients over his tenured career.
“My partners and I are excited to welcome Dr. Blanco to the SightMD family,” said Jeffrey Martin, MD, a Co-Founder and President of SightMD. “His 30+ year track record of providing clinically-excellent care makes him the perfect partner to lead SightMD’s first location in Manhasset.”
Dr. Blanco added, “there was no shortage of options when I was evaluating the future of my practice. SightMD’s physician-led, patient-centric culture, and history of serving Long Island and New York City made me certain that SightMD was the right home for my practice. Throughout the transaction process, SightMD was transparent, professional and focused on doing what was best for me, my staff and my patients. I could not be more excited to partner with the SightMD team.”
Dr. Blanco will maintain his existing schedule pursuant to this partnership. Brad Kligman, M.D., a fellowship-trained cornea, LASIK, and cataract surgery specialist, will also add hours in Manhasset. SightMD’s strategic partnership with Dr. Blanco represents the sixth practice to join the Company since it partnered with Chicago Pacific Founders in September 2018.
