Castle Connolly announced its “2022 Top Doctors,” a list that represents the top seven percent of doctors in the nation. SightMD is proud to announce that 19 of their physicians are among these standouts. The 2022 list is the largest ever, as it included more than 61,000 physicians across all specialties in every major metropolitan market.
Dr. Alexander Hatsis is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in complicated cataracts and laser vision correction. He was one of the expert U.S. surgeons to help gain FDA-approval for laser vision correction and was the first surgeon to perform LASIK on Long Island in 1995.
Dr Allen S. Greenbaum is a board-certified ophthalmologist serving the Westchester community. Dr. Greenbaum is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, with a special interest in refractive cataract surgery, including laser cataract surgery with premium lens implants.
Dr. David Immanuel is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in laser cataract surgery with advanced technology lenses and laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK). He is also a cornea and external disease specialist with expertise in corneal transplants and pterygium excisions. He received both MD and PhD degrees from the Medical Scientist Program at NYU and has trained many ophthalmology residents at Nassau University Medical Center.
Dr. Faye Knoll is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in both laser and traditional cataract surgery as well as laser vision correction including LASIK and PRK. Dr Knoll completed a fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in cornea and external diseases of the eye. “It’s always special to receive an award. To be honored by my peers is incredibly gratifying.” said Dr Knoll “I am also grateful to the talented and dedicated staff I work with. In the end, it’s about providing quality patient care.” Dr. Knoll has been a part of the SightMD team since 2012. Her favorite part of her job is developing lifelong relationships with her patients.
Dr. Irene Magramm is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in strabismus surgery and relief of double vision in children and adults. She also enjoys general ophthalmology in children and adults.
Dr. James R. Gordon is a board certified ophthalmologist and oculofacial surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He has particular expertise in the handling of challenging and complex cases. He has published numerous papers and has given extensive lectures on ocular disease and eyelids and facial cosmetic procedures, including innovative techniques for fillers & injectables.
Dr. Jeffrey Martin is a board certified ophthalmologist and is President and Co-Founder of SightMD. Dr. Laurence Rubin is a board certified ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience in comprehensive eye care. Dr. Rubin strives to provide the highest quality eye care by carefully listening to and observing every patient he sees.
Dr. Lawrence Buono is a board certified ophthalmologist that treats all medical and surgical conditions of the eye. As the attending neuro-ophthalmologist at the Duke Eye Center, he had the opportunity to care for patients with complex neuro-ophthalmic conditions and worked closely with the Department of Neurosurgery at the Duke University Brain Tumor Center.
Dr. Michelle Liebert is a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist specializing in strabismus surgery. Dr. Liebert takes a personal interest in each and every one of her patients, caring for each as if they were her own. One of her favorite aspects of being a doctor is that she can follow her patients from prematurity until adulthood.
Dr. Norman Saffra is one of the nation’s leading ophthalmic laser and microsurgeons and is known for his expertise in treating diseases that cause visual loss. “It is such a great honor to be recognized by Castle Connolly for over two decades” said Dr Saffra. Dr Saffra is an expert in conditions affecting the posterior segment of the eye, specifically those that involve the optic nerve, or the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Paul A. Choinski is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has over 30 years of medical and surgical experience in private practice as an eye doctor in Eastern Long Island. “I feel very honored and flattered to be recognized by Castle Connolly for my 32 years of eye care for the eastern Long Island community” said Dr Choinski. Dr Choinski practices comprehensive ophthalmology with an emphasis on cataract surgery including the use of femtosecond cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens implant technologies. Dr. Paul Sforza is a board certified fellowship-trained Cornea specialist with special training and interest in femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, and laser vision correction (LASIK/PRK). Dr Sforza is known for performing cutting-edge surgery with a warm bedside manner.
Dr. Richard Nattis is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and laser vision correction surgery. Dr. Nattis has been performing laser refractive surgery (PRK-LASIK) since it was approved by the FDA in 1995. “It is humbling and a great honor to be on this list for over 20 years.” said Dr. Nattis “To be recognized by fellow physicians consistently is evidence of excellent patient care and gives credit to my personal, compassionate and advanced treatment of my patients.” Dr. Nattis actively teaches medical and emergency room resident physicians, as well as medical students interested in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Seth D. Dr. William Kasper is a board certified ophthalmologist who emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of ocular disorders.
