Dr. Edward Marcus is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases, providing advanced retina care at SightMD locations in Brentwood, Amityville, East Patchogue, Port Jefferson Station, and Manhattan.

He focuses on diagnosing and managing complex retinal conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, and inflammatory or infectious eye diseases affecting the retina. With expertise in both medical retina care and vitreoretinal surgery, Dr. Marcus is dedicated to preserving vision and preventing disease progression through early and effective treatment.

Dr. Marcus believes in proactively managing retinal disease to reduce the risk of long-term complications and vision loss. He takes a patient-centered approach, ensuring every individual receives thorough evaluations, clear explanations, and personalized treatment plans tailored to their condition.

He earned his undergraduate degree in Applied Economics & Management from Cornell University before completing his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Rutgers University and pursued advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at The Kresge Eye Institute, where he developed specialized expertise in surgical and medical retina care.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Marcus serves as a Clinical Instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
