Dr. Paul Choinski is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and dry eye treatment at SightMD locations in Riverhead and Southampton, New York. With over 30 years of medical and surgical experience, he provides comprehensive eye care to patients throughout Eastern Long Island, focusing on restoring vision and managing a wide range of eye conditions, including dry eye disease, eye infections, flashes and floaters, styes, and other general vision concerns.

Dr. Choinski has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of cataracts and glaucoma, offering a full spectrum of care including medical management, laser procedures, and glaucoma surgery such as iStent. Dr. Choinski earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Binghamton University and continued his medical education at the University of Wroclaw and SUNY Health Science Center. He completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Buffalo, where he developed advanced surgical and clinical expertise.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of leading professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Raised in Smithtown, Long Island, Dr. Choinski completed his early education locally and remains deeply connected to the Long Island community.
