Dr. Chandra earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University in Economics and Health Policy before completing his medical degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by fellowship training in uveitis and ocular immunology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary—one of the leading programs in the country.

In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Chandra has contributed to ophthalmology research through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national presentations. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Uveitis Society.
